Nigerian Afrobeats artist and music executive Savage Xtra teams up with fellow Nigerian artist Phloryda on their collaborative single “OY BREED.”
The song brings together two artists connected to the independent Nigerian music scene, with Savage Xtra continuing his run of releases while Phloryda adds his voice to the collaboration.
“OY BREED” is listed as a single by Savage Xtra featuring Phloryda, with the record released through Alta Confianza Records. The song runs for just under three minutes and is part of Savage Xtra’s growing catalogue of Afrobeats and African-influenced music.
Savage Xtra, whose real name is Uche Barry Nwachukwu, has built his musical career around storytelling, perseverance and his experiences growing up in the Niger Delta. He has previously spoken about using Afrobeats as a way to tell his stories in a distinctly Nigerian way.
The artist is also the founder of Alta Confianza Records, a platform connected to several emerging acts, including Phloryda.
Phloryda, born April 22, 2001, is from Aboh-Mbaise, Imo State, and is associated with Hip-Hop/Rap. He has been building his catalogue through solo releases and collaborations, including work with Savage Xtra.
The collaboration between both artists is not their first musical connection. Phloryda has also appeared on Savage Xtra’s “Feel My Legs,” while Savage Xtra features on Phloryda’s catalogue through songs such as “Opps.”
