Nigerian Artists Dominate Africa’s Highest-Paid Musicians Per Show — Full List

Nigerian music continues to command major attention across Africa, and a fresh industry ranking has highlighted just how valuable the country’s biggest artists have become on the live-performance circuit.

According to a report published on August 24, 11 Nigerian artists feature among Africa’s 20 highest-paid musicians per show. Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy leads the ranking, while Wizkid and Davido also occupy positions near the top.

The figures circulating around the ranking are estimates rather than confirmed fixed performance fees. Actual artist charges can change depending on the event, location, promoter, venue, performance duration, exclusivity and other contractual terms.

Burna Boy Leads the African Ranking

Burna Boy sits at the top of the reported list, with his estimated performance fee placed between $1 million and $1.5 million or more per show.

The figure reflects the enormous demand surrounding one of Nigeria’s biggest global music stars.

Burna Boy has spent years building an international audience through major tours, festival appearances and arena performances. His live-show market has grown alongside his global profile, making him one of Africa’s most commercially powerful performers.

His recent touring achievements also underline that international demand. In March 2026, Voice of Nigeria reported that Burna Boy’s No Sign of Weakness tour generated $3.1 million from four Australian shows, including $1.117 million from a single performance in Sydney.

Wizkid Takes Second Place

Wizkid is ranked second, with a reported performance range of approximately $800,000 to $1 million or more.

The Starboy has been one of the central figures in the international growth of Afrobeats, working with major global artists and performing for audiences across several continents.

His position near the top of the latest ranking reinforces the commercial value of Nigerian music’s biggest international names.

Davido Ranks Fourth

Davido is also among the highest-ranked Nigerian artists, coming in at fourth position overall.

His reported performance fee is estimated at between $500,000 and $600,000 per show.

Davido’s international touring history and ability to headline large venues have helped establish him as one of Africa’s most recognisable live performers.

With Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido all appearing near the top of the list, Nigeria’s dominance becomes immediately clear.

The 11 Nigerian Artists on the List

Nigeria accounts for more than half of the 20 artists featured in the ranking.

The Nigerian names and their reported positions are:

  1. Burna Boy — $1 million–$1.5 million+
  2. Wizkid — $800,000–$1 million+
  3. Davido — $500,000–$600,000
  4. Rema — $200,000–$500,000+
  5. Olamide — $200,000–$350,000
  6. Kizz Daniel — $150,000–$200,000
  7. Asake — $100,000–$200,000
  8. Tems — $100,000–$150,000
  9. Tiwa Savage — $100,000–$130,000
  10. Ayra Starr — $100,000–$130,000
  11. Omah Lay — $80,000–$120,000

These positions come from the reported continental ranking and should be understood as estimated ranges, not official booking prices.

Rema Continues His Rapid Rise

One of the most striking names on the list is Rema.

The Nigerian singer is ranked fifth overall, with his reported performance fee estimated at $200,000 to $500,000 or more.

Rema’s position reflects how quickly his career has expanded internationally.

From his early breakout to global collaborations and major international performances, the singer has developed a strong worldwide following. His inclusion near established superstars such as Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido demonstrates the commercial growth of the younger generation of Nigerian artists.

Olamide and Kizz Daniel Also Feature

Olamide occupies eighth place overall, with an estimated performance range of $200,000 to $350,000.

The YBNL founder has remained influential in Nigerian music for more than a decade, helping shape the careers of younger artists while maintaining his own catalogue and performance career.

Kizz Daniel is also among the Nigerian representatives, ranking 11th with an estimated fee of $150,000 to $200,000.

His international fan base and touring activity have helped turn his music into a major live-performance attraction.

Asake, Tems, Tiwa Savage and Ayra Starr Make the List

The ranking also highlights the strength of Nigeria’s newer generation and its leading female artists.

Asake is ranked 12th, with a reported performance range of $100,000 to $200,000.

Tems follows at 14th, reportedly commanding between $100,000 and $150,000.

At 15th and 16th positions respectively are Tiwa Savage and Ayra Starr, with each reportedly placed within the $100,000 to $130,000 range.

Omah Lay completes Nigeria’s representation at number 18, with an estimated range of $80,000 to $120,000.

Nigeria Has More Artists Than Any Other Country

The biggest takeaway from the ranking is not simply who occupies first place.

It is the sheer number of Nigerian artists represented.

With 11 of the 20 positions, Nigerian musicians account for more than half of the names on the reported African ranking.

That means Nigeria has more representation than any other country included in the list.

The result reflects the country’s enormous influence on contemporary African music and the international demand for Nigerian performers.

South Africa, Ghana and Other Countries Also Feature

Nigeria isn’t the only African music market producing highly paid performers.

South Africa has three representatives.

Black Coffee is ranked third overall, with a reported performance range of $300,000 to more than $1 million.

Tyla appears at number 10, with an estimated range of $150,000 to $300,000, while rapper Nasty C is ranked 19th.

Ghana has two artists in the ranking: Shatta Wale at seventh and Sarkodie at 17th.

Other countries represented include Egypt, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and Kenya.

Why Nigerian Artists Command Such High Fees

The strength of Nigerian representation can be linked to the international growth of Afrobeats.

Over the past several years, Nigerian artists have moved from primarily performing for African audiences to headlining concerts and festivals across Europe, North America, Australia and other international markets.

Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido played major roles in that expansion, while artists such as Rema, Tems, Asake, Ayra Starr and Omah Lay have continued pushing Nigerian music into new territories.

The more international demand an artist creates, the greater the potential value of major live performances.

Streaming, social media, international collaborations and global touring have all contributed to the growing commercial profile of Nigerian music.

These Are Estimates, Not Fixed Prices

It is important to look at the figures with some caution.

Artists generally negotiate performance contracts privately, meaning there is no universal public price list showing exactly what every musician charges for every appearance.

A superstar’s fee can change depending on whether the event is a festival, private function, arena concert or corporate event.

Location, travel arrangements, production requirements, length of performance and exclusivity can also influence the final amount.

The figures in this ranking should therefore be viewed as reported estimates, rather than guaranteed booking prices.

Nigerian Music’s Global Influence Keeps Growing

The latest ranking offers another indication of how far Nigerian music has travelled.

Having 11 artists among Africa’s reported 20 highest-paid performers is significant because it shows that Nigeria’s influence extends beyond recordings and streaming.

The country’s artists are also commanding major attention in the live entertainment market.

For the Nigerian music industry, that represents an important part of its continued international growth.

Final Thoughts

Nigerian artists are dominating the latest reported ranking of Africa’s highest-paid musicians per show, with 11 Nigerians appearing among the continent’s top 20.

Burna Boy leads the list, followed by Wizkid in second place, while Davido, Rema, Olamide, Kizz Daniel, Asake, Tems, Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr and Omah Lay also make the ranking.

The figures may change from one booking to another, but the bigger picture remains clear: Nigerian music has become one of Africa’s strongest entertainment exports, and its biggest artists are commanding major value on the international live-performance circuit.
