A viral encounter involving Kizz Daniel and a young interviewer at the Supremacy Concert in Lagos has taken a new turn after the interviewer publicly apologised to the singer and his team.
The incident happened shortly after Kizz Daniel’s performance at the Eko Convention Centre during the 10th edition of the Supremacy Concert on October 3. The event also featured Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and Naira Marley.
A video from backstage showed the interviewer, identified as Advee, attempting to get a quick interview with Kizz Daniel as the singer and his team were leaving the venue.
According to reports, security personnel tried to prevent the interviewer from getting closer to the singer. He continued pursuing the interview before one of the security personnel pushed him to the ground. The incident quickly spread across social media, with the interviewer later claiming that his microphone had been damaged during the confrontation.
The situation attracted mixed reactions online. While some people questioned the way the security team handled the situation, others criticised the interviewer for continuing to approach Kizz Daniel after being stopped.
The story took another turn when Advee shared a follow-up video apologising to Kizz Daniel, his brother Vado the Great, the singer’s management and the Supremacy Concert.
He acknowledged that his approach was unprofessional and explained that his excitement at seeing Kizz Daniel had influenced his actions.
The interviewer also described himself as someone still finding his way in the entertainment industry and said his intention was never to disrespect the singer or his team.
His apology has since generated another wave of reactions, with some Nigerians continuing to criticise his approach while others viewed the apology as an opportunity for him to learn from the experience.
The incident has also renewed conversations about the difficult relationship between entertainment reporters and celebrity security teams, particularly at crowded concerts where artists are often trying to leave quickly after performing.
For now, the viral encounter appears to have moved beyond the initial confrontation, with the interviewer choosing to publicly acknowledge his actions and apologise.
Kizz Daniel and his management have not been reported as issuing a separate public response to the apology.
