Blaqbonez and Asake are back together, and this time they have taken their latest collaboration, “IKEBE 3000,” from the streaming platforms to the screen with a colourful new music video.
The collaboration follows the success of their earlier link-up, “Chanel,” and gives fans another opportunity to see how well the two artists work together.
“IKEBE 3000” arrived on October 2 as part of the rollout for Blaqbonez’s forthcoming album, “NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME.” The project is scheduled to arrive on October 16 through Chocolate City Music.
The new video leans heavily into movement, energy and personality. Blaqbonez takes centre stage while dancers in bold carnival-inspired outfits fill the visuals, creating a lively setting that matches the song’s playful character.
Musically, “IKEBE 3000” sits between Afrobeats and hip-hop, with Blaqbonez bringing his playful delivery while Asake adds the melodic presence that has become a major part of his sound. Their contrasting approaches give the record much of its appeal.
The song had already generated attention before its official release. Snippets shared online by Blaqbonez circulated widely, with listeners creating dance videos and CapCut templates around the track before the full version arrived.
That early momentum appears to have continued after release. “Ikebe” is currently sitting at No. 3 on Nigeria’s Apple Music chart for the week of October 5, behind Seyi Vibez’s “GTA” and “BACK 2 U.”
The collaboration also continues a productive run between Blaqbonez and Asake. Their previous song together, “Chanel,” became one of Blaqbonez’s biggest recent records, and “IKEBE 3000” gives the pair another opportunity to build on that chemistry.
For Blaqbonez, the timing is particularly important as he prepares to release “NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME.” “IKEBE 3000” serves as one of the project’s key introductions, giving listeners another taste of the direction he is taking before the full album arrives.
With the song already gaining traction on Nigerian charts and the official video now available, Blaqbonez and Asake have another collaboration attracting attention across the Afrobeats scene.
