NaijaGrove Music Spotlight: Diamond Jimma brings a confident and reflective energy to “Chosen One,” a track that explores purpose, determination and the belief that something greater is ahead.
The song is part of his GOD IN CHARGE EP, a five-track project that also features “Mowa O,” “Big Star,” “Esteri” and “Wawo.” The project keeps Diamond Jimma at the centre, with no featured artists across the tracklist.
On “Chosen One,” Diamond Jimma leans into melodic vocals while delivering a message built around identity and ambition. His performance moves between a more reflective mood and moments of confidence, giving the record a sense of forward movement without taking away from its Afrobeats groove.
The track also fits naturally into Diamond Jimma’s growing artistic identity. Rather than depending on a major guest appearance, “Chosen One” allows his voice, songwriting and delivery to carry the record from beginning to end.
For listeners discovering the GOD IN CHARGE project, “Chosen One” offers another side of Diamond Jimma’s sound—personal, melodic and focused on the journey toward bigger goals. It is a record that can easily find its place on playlists built around contemporary Nigerian music and motivational Afrobeats.
