Veteran Nigerian actor and filmmaker Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, is set to join other leading voices from Nigeria’s creative, media and communications sectors for the 2026 edition of the Pivot Nigeria Conference.
The conference is built around the theme “The Reputation Dividend: Who Pays for Nigeria’s Perception?” and will examine how Nigeria is perceived, who shapes the country’s narrative and the wider consequences of that perception.
According to the organisers, the gathering will bring together storytellers, communications professionals, cultural figures and other change makers to have conversations around Nigeria’s image and the narratives associated with the country.
RMD Joins the Conversation
RMD is one of the prominent names announced for the conference. With a career spanning acting, film production, journalism, media and public service, the veteran entertainer brings experience from several areas of Nigeria’s creative and cultural landscape.
His participation also adds an entertainment perspective to a conversation that goes beyond the traditional film and media industries.
The conference is expected to explore the role that storytellers and public figures play in shaping how Nigeria is understood both locally and internationally.

Other speakers expected at the event include Adedoyin Jaiyesimi, Co-Founder of The Comms Avenue, and Rosemary Afolahan-Egabor, Director of Commercial and Communications at News Central TV.
The organisers say the discussions will look at the cost of Nigeria’s perception and how it can affect people, businesses and opportunities connected to the country.
The event is being convened by Victoria Uwadoka, founder and lead consultant at HighStakes PR Professionals. Uwadoka has continued to advocate for Nigerians to take a more active role in telling authentic stories about the country.

The Pivot Nigeria Conference 2026 is scheduled to hold on September 29, 2026, at the MUSON Centre in Lagos.
