Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has opened up about a recent pregnancy loss, sharing the difficult experience during an appearance at the Bestie Jesu Concert in Lagos.
The actress revealed that she was four months pregnant when she lost the pregnancy. She explained that the experience happened while she was still working on a movie, making an already painful situation even more difficult to navigate.
Abraham shared the personal story while speaking about the support she received from Pastor Bolaji Idowu during the challenging period. According to the actress, she was still filming when the pregnancy loss occurred and found herself emotionally overwhelmed.
She explained that she initially did not want to tell her parents about what had happened, particularly because she was concerned about her elderly mother. Instead, she informed her husband, actor Kola Ajeyemi, who was away at the time.
With her husband unavailable to be physically present, Abraham said she reached out to Pastor Bolaji Idowu. She recalled that he immediately began praying for her and asked where she was.
The actress told him that she was on her way to the hospital and that doctors had planned an evacuation procedure following the pregnancy loss. She said the pastor continued to support her during the difficult moment and later sent her millions of naira to assist with the medical expenses.
Abraham publicly expressed her appreciation for the pastor’s support, thanking him for being there for her when she needed help.
The revelation has also brought attention to Abraham’s previous experience with pregnancy loss. In 2022, the actress spoke publicly about losing a pregnancy and described how deeply the experience affected her at the time. She had also spoken about her desire to have more children.
Abraham and Ajeyemi currently have a son together, while the actress is also a stepmother. Her latest disclosure gives a more personal look at another difficult experience away from her work in the Nigerian film industry.
The actress has continued to remain active in Nollywood despite the challenges she has faced personally. As a filmmaker and performer, she has built a strong presence in the Nigerian entertainment industry through acting, producing and involvement in major film projects.
Her decision to speak publicly about the experience also highlights the importance of having emotional and practical support during difficult personal circumstances.
Rather than focusing only on the painful details, Abraham used her appearance to acknowledge someone who stood by her during a particularly difficult period.
The actress’s story has since drawn attention from entertainment audiences, with many expressing support and encouragement following her disclosure.
For Toyin Abraham, the moment was an opportunity to share a deeply personal experience and publicly appreciate the person who supported her through it.
